2024 Expo a Success

by Frances Lechner

The 3rd Annual Health & Wellness EXPO has received rave reviews on social media, in conversations, on the evaluation forms…  We are so happy, proud, tired, grateful!    It takes many hands to make an event like this possible.  We thank all of you!

Folks came from Wilhoit, Skull Valley, Peeples Valley, Yarnell, Prescott and Wickenburg. Approximately 200 people participated in the EXPO; 30 folks were screened for skin cancer, 47 got flu vaccines, and 5 hepatitis A vaccines.  Thirty glucose and blood pressure checks were completed, and 5 breast exams with referrals for mammograms; there were LOTS of visitors to the new WickCare Clinic.

Approximately 180 people enjoyed lunch and 75 EXPO passports were returned.  Four attendees won $100 gift cards (their passports were pulled from those who visited over 20 of the 33 booths.)  Three people who visited 10-20 booths won $50 gift cards, and only ONE person visited fewer than 10 booths for a $25 gift card. Folks who completed the evaluation on the back of the Passport were also eligible for a $15 gift card.

The waiver form that folks filled out at the entrance was also a door prize ticket, and there were some AMAZING door prizes:  a gift basket from the Yarnell Emporium, set of melamine dishes, hoodies, hats, cool tie, jewelry, lotions & toiletries, gift cards for yard work, for meals at the Ranch House, the Book Barn, haircuts, Mary Kay products, a Michael Kors purse… a remarkable variety of goods.

Here are a few of the comments we received:

“Fun!”

“I thought the event was planned and executed very well. I can’t think of anything I would change or do differently.”

“I think it was nice that vendors could win prizes but really felt like the participants attending should be the ones receiving them.  Maybe limit vendor prizes.”

“All exhibitors were friendly and helpful; it was great as is!”

“The porta potties needed to be on the ground and not on top of a trailer. Please make it accessible for those that are on walkers, canes, or wheelchairs.”

“Hand station please. With using the bathroom and eating lunch, it is important that hand stations available both at the porta potties and by the food”.

“Thank you for all the planning and organization of the event. YCCHS was proud to offer services. We look forward to being a part of the event next year and to offer more vaccinations and flu shots!”

“The Event was wonderful! It was nice to be indoors. The room setup had a good flow with attendees being able to walk and look at the vendor tables. I thought it was well organized and was my favorite one yet!”

“Great, just great w good lunch.”

“Great opioid presentations.”

The EXPO team will consider ALL of the comments and suggestions when planning for next year’s Health & Wellness EXPO.
